MEET ALBERT "AJ" JOHNSON
As a child of educators, I’ve always understood how coupling a high-quality learning environment with extracurricular activities creates a well-rounded child. Alvin ISD has been a tremendous resource in both of these areas for my children, and I am running for school board to continue leading the path of growth in this district.
I was born and raised in nearby Missouri City, TX and graduated from Willowridge High School. I was blessed to earn a full athletic scholarship to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. While attending SMU I continued to pursue the path set forth by my parents – staying engaged in high-quality learning and extracurricular activities. Upon graduation from Southern Methodist University, with a BS in Management Information Systems, I went on to play eight years of professional football in the NFL, NFL Europe and the Canadian Football League.
My passion for helping people and developing relationships will help Alvin ISD continue to advance in all areas of learning. These skills have allowed me to transition from professional sports to being a successful Farmers Insurance and Financial Services Agent. I have also been able to use my influence to provide resources to my community; specifically in the youth athletics and education space. I continue to work with other community partners to offer a variety of access and information - such as grants, scholarships, and camps - to parents and children.
My wife, Jenise, and I currently reside in Rosharon, TX. Our oldest twin sons, Jaden (Texas A&M International) and Justin (Trinity University), are Manvel HS Class of 2020 graduates. Our daughter, Aryn, is in the Manvel HS Class of 2021 and will be attending McNeese State University. Andrew, the baby of the bunch, is currently a first-grader in the dual-language program at Marek Elementary.
I have submitted my application as a candidate for Alvin ISD school board Trustee Position 1. I would be honored to have your support. If you would like to donate to the campaign, you can do so at the link below.
Thank you in advance for your support.
